Ban for flare throwing to delay Richarlison's Spurs debut after £50m transfer from Everton | Goal.com

‘Bit of a problem,’ says pundit of 26-year-old Tottenham player……

Richarlison has been incredibly frustrating to watch ever since he arrived at Tottenham.

The Brazilian is a real enigma of a player, at times, he looks like he has what it takes to be a star, but, on other occasions, he looks like a fish out of water trying to lead the line for Spurs.

Simply put, his return of two Premier League goals in almost 18 months hasn’t been good enough, and speaking on ESPN, Shaka Hislop has highlighted his finishing as an issue.

Hislop says that Richarlison’s finishing did become a bit of an issue at Tottenham, but he’s hailed Ange Postecoglou for solving this issue by starting Heung-Min Son through the centre of the park.

Richarlison’s finishing an issue

Hislop spoke about the Brazilian.

“All of a sudden Richarlison becomes a bit of an issue because Richarlison isn’t the best finisher, and he was having a tough time and expressed as much away on international duty. What does he do with Richarlison? He sticks him on the left side and at least uses his pace and aggression in servicing Son through the middle,” Hislop said.

Bypassed

Hislop is right, Richarlison’s lack of goals was becoming an issue at Tottenham, but, somehow, they’ve bypassed that problem completely.

Indeed, the decision to move Son into the middle of the park has looked like an inspired call thus far.

Having a striker in your team who isn’t scoring goals can be a huge issue, but, somehow, Tottenham have managed to navigate their way to the top of the league while having Richarlison play a key role in their attack all season long.

If Richarlison finds his shooting boots, Tottenham could become even scarier than they are right now.
