Crystal Palace were previously keen on attacker Ben Brereton-Diaz, and amidst his struggles at La Liga side Villarreal, they could now revisit a deal for him.
Brereton-Diaz moved to Villarreal on a free transfer from Blackburn this summer, but his move which initially appeared intriguing, has now become a disaster.
The 24-year-old scored 47 goals in 177 games for Blackburn, and the Chile International joined Villarreal hoping to play a regular part at the top end of La Liga and in the Europa League.
However, Villarreal have had a turbulent season, with the manager who signed Brereton-Diaz, Quique Setien, being sacked just a few games into the campaign, and the attacker has hardly featured.
A report from TEAMTALK has now claimed that Villarreal could be open to loan offers for the attacker in January, as he aims to revive his stuttering career.
Burnley and Leicester are also interested in Brereton-Diaz, who can play both as a central striker and on the left wing, but is behind former Palace flop Alexander Sorloth in the pecking order at Villarreal.
He will not be available on a permanent transfer, but a short-term loan could suit both the player and any club who wishes to take a gamble on him.
