Enso Gonzalez is patiently waiting for a first-team chance at Wolves – and the youngster has revealed he has spoken with Newcastle United player Miguel Almiron.

The Paraguayan starlet has done an interview with Versus, and reflected on his first three months at Molineux.

Wolves signed Gonzalez from Libertad the day before deadline day in the summer.

The club paid approximately £5 million to land him, and sporting director Matt Hobbs said that he would be working with the first-team and competing for a place.

Recently though, Gary O’Neil said that Gonzalez needs a lot of work and so far, he’s been playing for the U21s.

It’s tough at the moment for Gonzalez, and the youngster has revealed he’s received some advice from his fellow countryman Almiron…

In his chat with Versus, Gonzalez said that if it were up to him, he would play the next match for the first-team.

But he knows O’Neil doesn’t feel he is quite ready yet.

The teenager is going to have to be patient, and Gonzalez has revealed what Almiron told him when Wolves played Newcastle United last month. He also met with Julio Enciso of Brighton.

He said: “I met Julio at his house and I also spoke to Miguel after the Newcastle game. We exchanged shirts and they’re both great people.

“Miguel told me that he went through the same thing of not playing. It’s one day after the other, anything can change and you have to be ready.”

Gonzalez will get there

Gonzalez sounds like he’s itching to play, but he also recognises that it’s unlikely he’ll do so anytime soon.

It is a huge change for him, coming over from South America to the Premier League. He was also going to need a bedding-in period.

It is nice to hear that his compatriots have looked out for him since he arrived at Wolves.

Almiron struggled when he first went to Newcastle, and is well-placed to offer Gonzalez advice.

Enciso has looked really promising at Brighton. He is currently injured, but last season he was also making a lot of appearances off the bench.

The hopes are high over Gonzalez, and he just needs to work hard and his chance will come eventually. At least for now, he is under close observation.
