MLB rumors: Why Juan Soto trade potential is real despite Scott Boras' claimThe Dodgers’ superstar is eager to re-join the team. Scott Boras states that he is welcome.

The focus on every Dodger fan’s mind is whether or not international sensation and superstar two-way player Shohei Ohtani will become a Dodger this offseason. That is the million-dollar (or maybe $600 million) question in Dodger land, and it could take a while before we know the answer.

Still, while fans are waiting on Sho-Time, the team is thinking of ways to better the team from top to bottom. And this winter’s free agent crop offers a good bit of talent to choose from at any position on the diamond, including former Dodger outfielder and MVP Cody Bellinger.

Bellinger is a free agent again after he declined his end of a $25 million mutual option for 2024 last Friday and could choose where he wants to go. MLB rumors: Why Juan Soto trade potential is real despite Scott Boras' claim

Could that mean a return to Los Angeles in Dodger blue? Maybe, according to his agent, Scott Boras. Boras spoke to the media and said he is open to playing anywhere.

But one question could spark the interest of Dodgers fans. On Wednesday, Boras was asked about the chances of Bellinger returning to LA, whether with the Angels or his former club at Dodger Stadium.“Our position on that is that Cody’s told me to look at the full gamut of the major leagues. Listen to everybody and he’ll make his decision from there.Bellinger was a Dodger from 2017-2022. His tenure as a Dodger was unforgettable, for the better or worse. His first three seasons were special, and his last three were not so special. Still, he remained a fan favorite, and fans were devastated when he left LA for Chicago.MLB rumors: Why Juan Soto trade potential is real despite Scott Boras' claim

Could we see a reunion on the horizon? Maybe. LA may need to fill some depth in the outfield, and still, at only 28 years old, Belli provides tremendous defense, and apparently, his bat has come alive after mediocrity from 2020 to 2022.

According to USA Today, the Bellinger camp is seeking a deal in excess of $200 million this offseason which may give pause for the Dodgers.

Are we destined for a reunion with this once beloved Dodger, or will he choose the field? We’ll see, but I’m sure many Dodger fans wouldn’t be opposed to it.
