The San Antonio Spurs may be in the middle of a rebuild, but they look like they’re ahead of schedule because of the early returns from Victor Wembanyama.

The hype for Wembanyama around draft season was beyond what anyone could have expected, yet he has somehow lived up to expectations and arguably surpassed them so far during his young NBA career.

The Spurs may be 3-5 to start the 2023-24 NBA season, but they’re much more competitive than initially anticipated.

Wembanyama has been every bit as good as advertised as he’s already a legitimate difference-maker on both ends of the floor.

San Antonio recently lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves, but it wasn’t on Wembanyama as the phenom scored 29 points to go along with nine rebounds, four assists, one steal, and four blocks.
