The Baltimore Orioles had an incredible regular season by many standards, the postseason was a different story.

After being swept 3-0 in the American League Division Series to the World Series champions Texas Rangers, the O’s learned where they needed to improve. The starting rotation and bullpen should be the main concern for the front office this offseason.

These five veteran arms would be exactly what the Orioles organization needs to improve their odds at furthering their postseason run next season.

Blake Snell

Two-time Cy Young award winner Blake Snell would be an excellent addition to the young rotation. With having a dominant 2023 regular season, coupled with the experience of starting in a two World Series games, Snell’s experience and leadership could be key. The only downfall, his price tag.

Aaron Nola

Aaron Nola, also a veteran starting pitcher, could be a potential fit for the Baltimore rotation. Nola has been a dominant force in the National League for the past nine years, having only pitched for the Philadelphia Phillies in his career. Nola also has that postseason experience the O’s could be looking for.

Sonny Gray

With Sonny Gray coming up on his twelfth year in the Big Leagues, there is no lack of experience. Gray doesn’t quite have the postseason experience the other two listed above have, but he is consistent. Gray is probably best bang for the buck out of this bunch.

Josh Hader

Josh Hader began his career with Milwaukee Brewers before being traded to the San Diego Padres. Hader is arguably the one of the best closers in baseball at the moment. Hader has that veteran postseason knowledge that Baltimore should be pursuing. He will not come cheap either. Hader also has a connection with the Orioles as they drafted him in the 2012 MLB draft.

Craig Kimbrel

Another “old man” by Major League standards, Craig Kimbrel has made quite the name for himself in his 14 seasons. Kimbrel has the 2011 Rookie of the Year, 2018 World Series champ, and nine All-Star trip to his name. Kimbrel should be the focus of adding to the bullpen, being older he will come a tad cheaper
