After much speculation, the Baltimore Orioles have revealed some interesting information about their 2024 schedule with GM.

1) This seems like a good move for multiple reasons. It means that kids and families will get home earlier. By starting games at 6:35 p.m. ET, it makes it easier to bring the entire family to the ballpark. Considering that a fair portion of the schedule is played while school is in session, it’s an easier sell to get kids to the game when they can still be home by a reasonable bedtime. Also, as the pitch clock quickens games as well, there’s a good chance that families are home by 10 p.m.

They aren’t the only team to make changes like this. The Seattle Mariners, for instance, played most of their home games last season at 6:35 local time.

2) The Saturday games are interesting, as well. First off, early in the season, it makes sense. As the weather is cooler at night, it’s good to play these games during the heat of the day. However, Baltimore does get insanely hot in the summer, so 4:05 p.m. games in mid-August could be excruciatingly uncomfortable.

No matter when they play though, the O’s figure to be a compelling draw in 2024. They are coming off a season in which they won 101 games and captured the American League East crown.
