ARLINGTON – Despite wearing their “Arctic Cowboy” uniforms, the Dallas Cowboys were on fire in the first half of Sunday night’s highly-anticipated game against the Philadelphia Eagles, leading 24-6 heading into the locker room. Dallas’ offense, which has been firing on all cylinders recently, kept on rolling in the first half, scoring on all four possessions. The Cowboys made a statement on their opening possession, marching 75 yards on 10 plays and capping the drive with a 13-yard pass from Dak Prescott to CeeDee Lamb. The next drive ended in a Brandon Aubrey field goal, where the rookie kicker remained perfect on the season by nailing a 60-yard attempt. Finally, Rico Dowdle ran it in from a yard out to put Dallas ahead by two scores.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys’ defense has also done a good job of containing Jalen Hurts and the rest of the Eagles’ offense. The MVP hopeful completed seven of 13 passes for 92 yards, plus an additional 28 yards on the ground. More notably, though, he had a key fumble that ended a promising Philadelphia drive and led directly to three Dallas points. Even with a two-score lead, the Cowboys kept their foot on the gas and executed a near-flawless two-minute drill. Prescott hit Brandin Cooks for a 30-yard gain down to the one-yard line, then the QB found Michael Gallup two plays later. Prescott finished the first half with 143 passing yards and two touchdowns while completing 14 of 23 passes. Tony Pollard had 32 yards on six carries, while Lamb added 65 yards and a score on five receptions. The Eagles will get the ball to start the second half.
