PDC and talkSPORT have signed a new two-year broadcast agreement.
The Paddy Power World Darts Championship will be broadcast live on talkSPORT2 as part of a new broadcast deal with the leading sports radio station.
The two-year deal will feature exclusive live commentary of the Paddy Power World Darts Championship and Betfred World Matchplay, alongside updates from other PDC televised events.
Commentary on talkSPORT2 will come from Ian Danter, Mark Wilson, Chris Murphy, Paul Nicholson and Chris Mason throughout the event, alongside player interviews from Sian Price.
This year’s event will be the seventh successive World Darts Championship broadcast on talkSPORT2, with coverage from December 15-January 3 coming live from Alexandra Palace.
“The talkSPORT2 live commentary of PDC events has been really well-received,” said PDC Chief Executive Matt Porter.
“It’s great to be working with talkSPORT for the next two years, with their coverage helping to provide another avenue for sports fans to follow our biggest events.”
Deputy Head of talkSPORT, Kathryn Anastasi, added: “The Paddy Power World Darts Championship is a long-standing and important part of our seasonal offering.
“We are delighted that darts on the radio will be returning to talkSPORT2 for the next two years.
“The festive season on the talkSPORT network is sparkling with sporting treats, including over fifty live football commentaries and England’s cricket tour of the West Indies.”
The 2023/24 Paddy Power World Darts Championship will be staged from December 15-January 3 at Alexandra Palace in London, with players competing for the Sid Waddell Trophy and £2.5 million in prize money.
Fans can listen to talkSPORT 2 on DAB radio, online at talkSPORT.com, via the talkSPORT app, or by telling their smart speaker to ‘play talkSPORT 2’.
