Hugo Lloris is set to leave Tottenham Hotspur after 11 years as he prepares to join MLS side Los Angeles FC, He sent a heartfelt goodbye message to Tottenham Hotspur fans after his permanent transfer to Los Angeles FC was confirmed by the club. The former France international joined the club back in 2012 and made a total of 447 appearances across all competitions for Spurs.
The France international saw his first-choice spot taken bysummer arrival Guglielmo Vicario this season, with Ange Postecoglou making Fraser Forster his back-up option after Lloris failed to complete a move away from north London in the summer. Now, as the Spurs legend prepares to say goodbye to the club after over a decade of service, Lloris sent a goodbye message to supporters ahead of his departure.
In the statement released he said “I just want to say thank you for your support since day one, it’s been a great privilege to be one of you and your captain as well for many years,” Lloris said in a video on Spurs’ website. “I think it’s the end of the chapter, but you will always be in my heart.
“Spurs will always be a special place for me, and all my family. On behalf of them, I would like to say thank you for all the memories we shared, all the emotions we went through and I just want to wish you the best for the next decade because you deserve the best.”
A club statement posted by Tottenham read: ` in all competitions, captain for nine years, Hugo will end an 11-year association with us for a new adventure in America.
“Signed from Lyon on 31 August, 2012, Hugo was 25 at the time, had 38 caps to his name for France and faced competition from Brad Friedel and Carlo Cudicini. He eventually secured the number one spot in November, 2012, and never looked back
