BALTIMORE, MD — The NFL Divisional Playoffs get underway Saturday afternoon with the best team during the regular season in action, as the Baltimore Ravens host the Houston Texans
The Ravens were by far the best team during the regular season, going 13-4, the first time they finished with that many wins since their 14-win 2019 campaign. They did lose their last game before the postseason, as a team built of mostly second-stringers lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, when the big guns were on the field, Baltimore won six straight games to clinch the team’s seventh division title. Lamar Jackson was playing at an MVP level again, and with a stout defense, Baltimore established itself as a true Super Bowl contender.
However, they have to erase some past playoff demons. The Ravens have been victorious in just one of their last six postseason games. The last time they had a bye of the Wild Card Round, four years ago, Baltimore lost to the Tennessee Titans.
The Texans are coming off a big win their first playoff game in four seasons. Led by Rookie of the Year candidate CJ Stroud, and an incredible defensive performance, Houston ran all over the Cleveland Browns last Saturday, the biggest margin of victory in the franchise’s postseason history. It is also just the team’s sixth playoff win, ever.
