Nottingham Forest are reportedly close to sealing a move for Sporting striker Rodrigo Ribeiro.

The forward is a prospect within Sporting’s academy, making 10 league appearances for Sporting B this season and recording three goal contributions in seven starts. Ribeiro has made seven first team appearances so far in his fledgling career, including as a late substitute against Manchester City in the Champions League, back in March 2022.

Ribeiro, 18, starred for Sporting U19s on their route to the UEFA Youth League semi-finals, where he scored six goals and provided two assists in nine games. The striker also recorded five goal contributions in as many games as Portugal U19s reached the Euros final in the summer. Ribeiro is claimed to be on Forest’s radar and is said to be nearing a move to the City Ground.

That’s according to journalist Fabrizio Romano who has reported that Forest are ‘closing in on a deal’ for Ribeiro. The transfer is described as an initial loan that will include a buy option clause from Sporting..
