Leeds United enjoyed an excellent weekend after picking up three points at Bristol City on Friday night, before watching Ipswich Town lose at Preston – and Kieran McKenna has discussed the race.

Willy Gnonto’s second goal of the season saw Leeds win at Bristol City the night before, putting the pressure on both Southampton and Ipswich to match our result and not lose any ground in the race.
Southampton’s superb form continued, easily winning 2-0 at Rotherham. Ipswich, though, have found that their form is deteriorating in recent weeks. An FA Cup defeat to Maidstone at home, a sign of that.
Harry Redknapp said it would be foolish not to rule Leeds out of the race for automatic promotion, and now, Leeds sit in third – Southampton in second. Saints though, have played a game less, a point ahead.

Their form is incredible and right now, are likely to be the favourites from Leeds, themselves and Ipswich to finish second. But anything can happen in the Championship. Leeds host the Saints on the final day.
There is likely to be plenty of twists and turns, but McKenna needs to pick his Ipswich players up off the deck if they are to compete for the top two. He described Leeds as “fantastic”, and in “incredible form”.
