Enzo Maresca, 2023-presentLeicester City are now nine points clear at the top of the Championship table, following a comprehensive 5-0 away victory over fellow Midlands outfit Stoke City.

Enzo Maresca’s side have been playing stellar football all campaign, and have a star-studded squad who seem destined to lift the Championship title and make their immediate Premier League return.

The Foxes suffered just one defeat across the months of December and January, and could not have made a better start to February as they thrashed the Potters.Enzo Maresca, 2023-present

Maresca’s team are arguably one of the greatest Championship sides of all time, with high quality all over the pitch from midfield ace Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who has 10 goals and 10 assists to his name in the second tier, to the likes of hot-shot Patson Daka, who couldn’t get a game for the first few months of the campaign.

The Foxes’ current squad would not look out of place in the Premier League, so perhaps it is no surprise that they have been totally dominant in the Championship title race so far.

The strength in depth Maresca has in defence is particularly impressive, through the likes of experienced top-flight centre back Jannik Vestergaard and fellow central defender Wout Faes, who made 31 Premier League appearances for the Foxes last campaign.

In fact, the Foxes’ defensive depth is so strong that Conor Coady, who was in the England squad for the 2022 World Cup, has experienced a lack of game time at the King Power Stadium.

Coady was a great servant for Wolves, and featured for the West Midlands outfit over 300 times across both the Championship and Premier League, as well as in the UEFA Europa League.
