Leeds United adds an ex-West Ham United and Derby County man to their transfer committee..

Leeds United have named Jordan Miles as their new head of recruitment. Miles arrives from Scottish Premiership outfit Aberdeen, having also held similar roles at West Ham United, Derby County and Ipswich Town.

A United statement read: “Everyone at Leeds United would like to welcome Jordan to the club.” Before replacing Southampton-bound Darren Mowbray as the Dons’ head of recruitment, Miles was head of recruitment analysis with the Hammers for seven years. He previously held senior roles with Derby County and Ipswich Town and also has a background in data analysis.

Miles will report to Whites technical director Gretar Steinsson at Elland Road and form a part of the player identification strategy being deployed. He will work closely with Steinsson, interim football advisor Nick Hammond and boss Daniel Farke as part of the club’s transfer committee. The committee is headed up by chief executive Angus Kinnear, who has overseen a formalisation of the football department since 49ers Enterprises seized full control of the club.

It emerged in December that the Whites had approached Aberdeen for Miles and were keen to bring him to Elland Road. He only joined from West Ham back in July. Reports north of the border claim that Miles’ exit is expected to earn the Dons a compensation fee. He has been replaced at Aberdeen by Chris Badlan.
