Manchester City v Everton FC - Premier LeagueReports have claimed that Chelsea have now enquired about bringing in one player from a fellow Premier League club at the end of this season.

According to the Mail Online, the Blues are interested in signing Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite, with him impressing a lot of elite sides this season.

Branthwaite has emerged as one of the top young centre-backs in England this season, with him surely not far away from an international call-up.

He would likely join up with Levi Colwill, who is another young defender who already looks assured at the heart of a Premier League defence.

Despite the points deduction already suffered by the Toffees, they are not far away from getting out of the relegation dogfight.

Whether they stay up or not, clubs are likely to make a move to sign Branthwaite at the end of this season.

A number of pundits have been very impressed by the 21-year-old, with Alan Shearer already describing him as ‘magnificent’.

However, the report states that it is Manchester United and Tottenham who are pushing hardest to get a deal over the line in the upcoming transfer window.

It has been claimed though that the Blues will be looking to address the centre-back position at the end of this campaign, with them likely to lose a number of their current options.

There have been no claims that veteran Thiago Silva is going to be offered a new contract at the end of the season when his current deal runs out.

Trevoh Chalobah was named in the matchday squad for the first time this season earlier this week, although it is likely that they will be looking to increase his value before hopefully selling him this summer.
