Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has said that Leicester City must be given ‘credit’ for the pace that they are setting in the Championship this season.
The Whites are currently in a fight with Southampton and Ipswich Town for an automatic promotion place at the end of the season. City are well clear of the chasing pack and will look to at least maintain that gap when they take on Middlesbrough at the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Leeds’ challenge for second spot has been strengthened by a current seven-game winning run. Farke’s men will be hoping to make it eight wins in a row when they make the journey to Plymouth in Saturday’s early kick-off.
Leeds sit on 66 points which would have put them top of the table at this point in four of the last five seasons. This time last year, Burnley were on 69 points.
Ahead of the game against Plymouth, Farke gave his assessment of his team’s season so far. He heaped praise on his team for what they are doing.
