Shocked' - Everton boss Sean Dyche reveals how he and Toffees squad reacted to 10-point deduction as Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag admits concern over facing 'very mad' opposition | Goal.comA verdict on their appeal is expected this week, while Forest are expected to learn their fate early next month.

And according to The I, executives at other top-flight clubs believe Forest will become the second team to be docked points this season.

The report claims one CEO at a Premier League club is ‘adamant’ they will receive the same penalty imposed on Everton

All Premier League clubs have to comply with PSR, which state they cannot lose more than £105m in a three-year period.

In the EFL, rules differ depending on the division a club is in. In the Championship, Profit and Sustainability (P&S) rules dictate clubs are permitted to lose up to £39m over three years.

Given their promotion from the Championship in May 2022, Forest had to play by different rules and their permitted losses were at a lower level of £61m. Effectively their top-flight campaign had an allowance of £35m, with £13m for each of the two seasons in the second-tier.

Forest have famously signed 43 players since they won the play-off final in May 2022 to return to the top-flight for the first time in 23 years.

Of those signings, 30 were made in their first season back in the Premier League, which they ended in 16th place four points above the relegation zone.

As Mail Sport reported last month, Forest’s defence hinges on the sale of Brennan Johnson to Tottenham in August last year.

The 22-year-old joined Spurs for £47.5million in August, with Forest booking the entire fee as a profit under PSR rules as the Welshman was a product of their academy.

Forest will be looking to convince the three-person independent commission they should be allowed to backdate the fee received for Johnson, despite the fact the transfer went through two months after the cut-off point for PSR.

Forest are currently 16th in the Premier League, four points above the relegation zone but 18th-placed Luton have a game in hand.Shocked' - Everton boss Sean Dyche reveals how he and Toffees squad reacted to 10-point deduction as Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag admits concern over facing 'very mad' opposition | Goal.com

A 10-point penalty like the one handed out to Everton would plunge Nuno Espirito Santo’s team into the bottom three, just one point ahead of bottom-dwellers Burnley and Sheffield United.
