Sunderland are being linked with several potential summer appointments after sacking Michael Beale.
Beale has left Sunderland after just 12 games in charge, with four wins to his name and a series of forgettable moments.
From bizarre press conference comments to a missed handshake with Trai Hume, Beale will certainly go down as a poor Sunderland boss.
And now the Sunderland owners have named Mike Dodds in temporary charge until the summer where they look to hire a new permanent head coach.
Several names are being linked, with former Swansea City and Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper among those.
Another name who is apparently keen on talking to those at the Stadium of Light is Polish boss Marek Papszun, who has supposedly been spoken to by clubs in England and Saudi Arabia in the past few months.
Who is Marek Papszun
Papszun, 49, is a Polish football coach who’s worked his way through the divisions in his native country.
He started out managing lower league and regional teams, developing a knack for getting teams promoted, doing so with KS Lomianki and Legionovia Legionowo, though it was during a seven-year stint at Rakow Czestochowa where he made his name.
Papszun won the Polish third and second tier with Czestochowa in 2017 and 2019 respectively, and then won the Polish top tier in 2023 before leaving the club.
During his seven years at Czestochowa, Papszun won seven titles; the three aforementioned league titles, as well as two Polish Cups and two Polish Super Cups.
Papszun was named Polish Manager of the Year three years in a row (2020, 2021, and 2022), and now appears keen on a new challenge in the dugout after leaving Czestochowa last year.
