‘I have nothing against IPSWICH.’ TIM SHERWOOD SENDS DEFIANT LEEDS UNITED MESSAGE LIVE ON RADIO..Tim Sherwood unveiled as Swindon Town's director of football | Football News | Sky Sports

Leeds United provided some serious spice to the Championship promotion battle when they beat leaders Leicester City last Friday to smash open the pressure door.

Only a few weeks ago, many felt that only one automatic place was up for grabs and it was a race between Leeds, Ipswich Town and Southampton, but not anymore!

Saying that, Leicester still hold a six-point lead over Daniel Farke’s men, who are level on points with newly-promoted Ipswich in third.

Tim Sherwood was asked who he would prefer to see in the Premier League next season and he made it clear that he wants Leeds back in the big time, as he told talkSPORT Breakfast (29/02/24 at 9:55 am).Tim Sherwood unveiled as Swindon Town's director of football | Football News | Sky Sports

The former Tottenham and Aston Villa boss added ‘I have got nothing against Ipswich’ and acknowledged that Kieran McKenna has done a ‘wonderful job’ at Portman Road.

Only last season, the Tractor Boys were in England’s third tier, yet fast forward to the present and they are competing with three teams, recently relegated from the Premier League, for a spot with the elite.

One thing is for sure, despite a few blips here and there, they aren’t backing down and those from Yorkshire have a fight on their hands.

Just like the Foxes and Southampton, they are hoping for an instant return and Tim Sherwood wants to see it happen.

“Both very well supported,” said Sherwood about Leeds United and Ipswich Town. “But Leeds, it’s one of my favourite grounds to go to. I always enjoyed playing there.
