Sunderland aim to sign superb ace. Bournemouth’s outcast has been reduced following Jack Clarke’s departure in the summer.He is physically fit and strong in both legs.

The upcoming summer already looks like it’s going to be a massive one for Sunderland, with the spotlight firmly on those making the decisions at the Stadium of Light.

Firstly, and most importantly, the Black Cats hierarchy are going to be in the market for a new head coach, and it’s one decision they must get right after Michael Beale’s struggles on Wearside.

Then, the new boss will need backing in the market, and the reality is that they’re highly likely to inherit a Sunderland squad that will lose its best player in Jack Clarke.

The winger has been outstanding this season, scoring 15 goals in 33 games, so keeping him always seemed dependent on winning promotion. However, with Sunderland eight points away from the play-off places, and Clarke out for at least six weeks due to injury, another year in the second tier beckons.

Jaidon Anthony fits Sunderland’s profile

Clarke’s likely sale will at least bring in a significant sum, so the recruitment team should be in a position where they can target proven performers.

And, one man who should be on their radar is Jaidon Anthony, the Bournemouth winger who is currently on loan at Leeds.

From a statistical point of view, his signing may seem underwhelming, as Anthony only has one league goal for the Whites.

But, that doesn’t tell the whole story, as he has started just two Championship games this season, with the rest of his outings coming from the bench due to the form of Crysencio Summerville, who is up with Clarke as one of the best players in the league.

With Wilfried Gnonto and Dan James also options for Daniel Farke, it’s easy to see why Anthony’s game time has been limited.
