West Ham United manager David Moyes has managed to win back fans who bizarrely wanted the Scotsman sacked at the London Stadium, according to Joe Bernstein.
The Hammers picked up their second consecutive win in the Premier League with a 3-1 win at Goodison Park on Saturday (2 March) thanks to Kurt Zouma’s second-half goal and two stoppage-time strikes from Tomas Soucek and Edson Alvarez.
Moyes had been under serious pressure from West Ham supporters in recent weeks after a disappointing run of form, but Daily Mail journalist Bernstein believes wins over the Toffees and Brentford will have turned the tide.
Writing for the Daily Mail on Sunday (3 March) he said: “David Moyes needed West Ham to score seven in a week to help persuade the club’s fanbase he is the man to take them forward, but further afield he is convinced the club are building a formidable reputation.
“It seems bizarre that some Hammers supporters want change, with the team seventh in the Premier League and attempting to win back-to-back trophies.
“There are those who do not want the Scot to get a new contract, with his current one expiring in the summer, but he is pleased with how outsiders are beginning to view West Ham, particularly abroad.”
