The Championship promotion and title race looks to be heading for a tense finish with midweek action taking place this week.

Leeds United were in action on Tuesday night as they took on Stoke City at Elland Road. The Whites took the lead in the 33rd minute through Daniel James. Ben Pearson was then sent off for Stoke as Daniel Farke’s men picked up a valuable three points.

Both Leicester City and Ipswich Town were also in action at the same time. The Foxes took on Sunderland at the Stadium of Light while Ipswich hosted Bristol City at Portman Road.

Jamie Vardy’s first half goal was enough to earn Leicester their first first win in four games. It ensures that the gap between them and Leeds remains at five points.

At the time of writing, Ipswich are drawing 2-2 with Bristol City. Southampton are in action on Wednesday night when they take on Preston North End at St Mary’s.
