Steve Cooper happy with win before international breakThe Leicester City boss, who has been coming under increasing pressure in recent weeks, claimed the club’s first win of the season at home against an impressive Bournemouth side. Steve Cooper was happy with the 1-0 win, and quickly showed praise to his side.

It was the Argentinian midfielder Facundo Buonanotte who scored the only goal of the game on 16 minutes. The Argentinian got onto a ball from full-back James Justin and fired a shot into the back of the net.

The Cherries were able to find a goal on 65 minutes, however it was ruled out for offside by VAR. Lewis Cook and his free kick coming off the head of Evanilson, who was in an advanced position.

Some tough defending by Leicester eventually reaped rewards as they were able to hold onto three points at home – Caleb Okoli and Mads Hermansen were the main parts of the result.

Cooper was quick to turn his attention to his players and fans, saying: “I never worry about myself first”.

“I’m just really happy that the players have been able to get the win and the supporters have been able to leave the stadium with a win as well.

The importance of the fans is something that Cooper has been very vocal about since his arrival. The former Nottingham Forest manager is still yet to get the Leicester fans fully on board due to his former employers.
