According to Rudy Galetti, West Ham United has agreed to sign a Premier League outstanding attacker.
Writing in his column for CaughtOffside (5 March), the Italian journalist reports that several clubs have approached the Gunners about the playmaker including the Hammers.
West Ham had a bid rejected in January, but they could now look to try again in the summer amid limited game time with the club doing their internal checks in recent weeks.
“The player has already received several approaches from many English clubs who could try again in June,” he wrote.
“West Ham are among these, and the Hammers have already concretely shown their interest in Smith Rowe, so it’s not excluded that they could try again in the summer.
“Indeed, internal evaluations on Smith Rowe at West Ham have been underway during recent weeks.”
Are West Ham wasting their time chasing Smith Rowe?
The January transfer window was filled with failed transfer bids for attackers for David Moyes’ squad, with Jota and Ibrahim Osman both supposedly being close before not joining.
But Smith Rowe was a deal that was both mentioned and then shut down incredibly quickly, with the Gunners adamant they didn’t want to lose their academy star and the player reportedly not interested in a move either.
