Liverpool loanee Tyler Morton says it’s imperative his Hull City side pick themselves back up off the canvas and respond against league leaders Leicester City on Saturday.
Morton and his Tigers colleagues looked to be on course for a big three points against Birmingham City on Tuesday night after Ozan Tufan’s 25th-minute goal but were made to pay for their profligacy in front of goal when Lukas Jutkiewicz stepped off the bench to head in the equaliser in the closing stages.
The draw left Liam Rosenior angry, and Morton equally frustrated with the pair admitting dropping two crucial points in their quest to earn a play-off place felt like a defeat.
“It’s tough to sum up my feelings, but now I’ve had the chance to calm down a little bit, I think it was just tough to take,” Morton told Hull Live.
“Two points definitely dropped and I feel like we just need to pick ourselves back up, I feel like it’s not a loss at the end of the night and that’s probably the only positive we can take out of it. We play some good football as well. I feel like the understanding of the team is gelling together, it’s just that clinical edge that we’ve lacked that we’ve spoken about so much this season.
