However, a slip up in form in recent weeks has seen the gap between themselves and the chasing pack decrease with each drop of points. Leicester City need Mavididi back to his best and quick. They have won just one of their last five in the Championship and so they will want to get back to form and strengthen their league position.
Given how much of an impact Mavididi has had in the first half of the campaign, in order for the Foxes to get back to winning ways on a consistent basis, they will need one of their star players back to form too.
With nine games left to play the Foxes still have to play three of the current top six. Maresca’s stance to fire somewhat of a warning to his player is a bold one, but one that he will hope works in his side’s favour soon, especially with tough games on the horizon.
