Leeds United v Leicester City - Sky Bet ChampionshipConor Coady has opened up on what the atmosphere at Elland Road felt like from Leicester City’s perspective in Leeds United’s recent win over the Foxes.

Leeds came from a goal down to run out 3-1 winners in the Championship’s top of the table clash last month, in which the Whites scored three times late on to secure an incredible comeback.

Leicester had actually been the better side for the entirety of the second half until Connor Roberts‘ equalising goal, with Patson Daka and Stephy Mavididi guilty of missing massive opportunities.

However, once Leeds scored their first, Leicester buckled under the atmosphere and from then on, there was only one winner as Archie Gray and Patrick Bamford both got on the scoresheet.

Speaking on the latest episode of BBC 5 Live’s Monday Night Club, Coady felt like the Elland Road crowd almost ‘sucked the ball into the net’ at 1-1, but Leicester should never have been in the position to lose the game like that.Leeds United v Leicester City - Sky Bet Championship

Coady praises Elland Road atmosphere

He said: “Yeah and we knew it would be. If you watched the game, we were fantastic for 80 minutes. It was a crazy end to the game. We had chances and needed to kill the game but never did as we should’ve done.

“It gave Leeds hope and whenever you are 1-0 down, you are still in it. We kept Leeds like that. They came back and scored the three goals. The atmosphere, you always know what it is going to be like at Elland Road.Leeds United v Leicester City - Sky Bet Championship

“I have had it before in the past where they suck the ball into the net. That’s what they do there and was always going to be a good atmosphere. It is important we understand what Leeds are doing, they have been great since Christmas but we have a job to do, as Ipswich and Southampton will be saying.”
