There is just over a week to go until Hull City make the short trip to Elland Road to take on Leeds United. Both clubs are gunning for promotion as head into the business end of the campaign.

While United are pushing for the title, City have plenty of work to do if they are to secure a top-six finish. The Tigers are seventh, three points shy of the play-off places, but they do have a game in hand over rivals Norwich City and West Bromwich Albion.

Liam Rosenior’s team will arrive in West Yorkshire on Easter Monday without first-choice striker Liam Delap. The Manchester City loanee, who has notched seven goals since moving to the MKM Stadium, has not played since January due to a knee injury.

When asked to provide a fitness update on Delap, Rosenior said: “All of the reports I’m getting are that he’s doing better and better and he’s getting ahead of schedule. I don’t want to put pressure on but we’re looking at having him in, I would say, mid-April – a couple of weeks.

“We’ve decided with Manchester City because of their facilities, because of what they can give him, that they’ll rehab him to a point where he can come back to full training, so once he’s back with us he’s fully fit. I think that’s right for him and when that happens it’s going to be like a new player. He’s been a big miss for us.”

Rosenior and his squad were at a training camp in Turkey this week as they continue their preparations for the Championship run-in. City host Championship strugglers Stoke City on Good Friday before their televised trip to Elland Road.
