AFC Bournemouth have had three games moved, all with just four weeks notice.
The game away to Aston Villa had been known to be at risk of a move due to Aston Villa’s progression to the UEFA Europa Conference League quarter-final. Whilst the trip to Wolves had already been postponed due to their progress to the FA Cup quarter-final.
But, probably due to fixture congestion, there had been a delay in confirming fixture dates, something which the Football Supporters Association had been critical of on social media.
Does any other “industry” treat its fans like this? Imagine a theatre refusing to schedule a show because they want to give TV viewers first dibs.
AFC Bournemouth had already announced that they had sold out the initial allocation of tickets for the trip to Villa Park before confirmation of the fixture date change.
Brighton & Hove Albion’s visit along the south coast to Dean Court has also had to be moved back a day as their fixture with Manchester City has had to be given a new date and the visitors require enough recovery time.
The new dates and fixtures are as follows…
Aston Villa Vs AFC Bournemouth at Villa Park – Sunday 21st April with a kick-off time of 3pm.
