Stefano Pioli’s future has been largely under fire this season, and several reports have suggested a decision will be made at the end of the season. Today, following AC Milan’s loss to AS Roma, a report has shed some light on the current situation.

The early stages of the season were a merry-go-round regarding Pioli’s Milan future – his popularity and safety rose and dropped at a consistent rate until reports revealed that a decision would be made at the end of the season, and not sooner.

This was dependent on results, though, and with the Rossoneri in the business end of the season now, there are three games which will likely decide his future, and the first of those was last night at San Siro – which they lost. However, they are not out of the fixture yet, with the deficit only a goal.

Today, Sky have given an update on the current situation with Pioli, especially following the news about the Diavolo opting away from hiring Damien Comolli, and that is that there are no changes in Milan’s thinking. Comolli, if hired, would have preferred to move forward with a new coach, but the management are still holding out until the end of the season to make a decision.
