Dele Alli’s future will be a talking point over the coming months as his Everton contract nears its conclusion. Departing Tottenham in January 2022 to secure a move to Goodison Park, the attacking midfielder signed a two-and-a-half year deal on Merseyside.
Only making 13 appearances for the Toffees in total, Sean Dyche’s side have a decision to make over the player as they get their plans in place for the 2024/25 campaign. In the Sky Sports studio at the beginning of the week as he was a guest on Monday Night Football ahead of Everton’s match against Chelsea, Alli was asked about his future but he refused to go into detail on the subject given he is still contracted to Everton.
“I’m signed to Everton so I think it’d be disrespectful to say anything else while I’m here,” explained the 28-year-old. “They’ve been so amazing with me and I don’t know if it’s off the cards being there next season so I won’t talk about any of that because they’ve been amazing and I don’t know the details of the situation but I want to stay in the Premier League and be at the highest level and playing against the best players.”
He added: “It’s exciting. Some players might panic and think, ‘I’m out of contract in the summer’ but this is a great opportunity to show myself and show what an amazing story it has been and what it’s going to continue to be. Going through this just means that when I do get back to the top it’ll be even better so I just want to get there.”
Following a difficult couple of years for the former Spurs player, everyone is desperate to see the attacking midfielder back on the pitch and enjoying his football once again. Given his desire to remain in the Premier League, football.london takes a look below at possible next clubs for the player if he is to exit Everton.
