Sevilla appear to be slowly talking themselves into a move for Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca this summer.
That’s at least according to Vamos Mi Sevilla, who say he is the current candidate who would ‘give the most peace of mind’ at the club.
Sevilla are likely to be on the hunt for a new manager this summer as Victor Orta appears unconvinced by Quique Sanchez Flores, despite him having stabilised matters since his arrival at the club.
The club’s sports management are looking for candidates to replace him and the Leicester City manager has been suggested as one of the options being explored given his strong ties to the club from his playing days.
Vamos pick up on that and explain he’s the current name on the list that could ‘give the most peace of mind’ as he plays very risky football but with controlled playing out from the defence.
His greatest achievement is currently the success he’s enjoying with Leicester in the Championship and his relationship to the club is a major bonus.
The Spanish side have learned from Quique that having someone who understands them is a major plus and that certainly applies to the Leicester boss.
The fact that he’s also adapted to life in the Championship and largely developed the squad he inherited rather than relying on big signings is another plus.
Whether they could get him from the Foxes is another matter but it’s an idea that seems to be growing in the offices in Seville ahead of the summer.
