Sean LongstaffLeicester City know that if they win their final three games, they will be back in the Premier League next season.

The Foxes’ automatic promotion bid has hit the rocks in recent weeks, but a crucial 2-1 win over West Brom on Saturday means it is now in their hands.

So, the focus will be on these remaining games to ensure they are back in the top flight next season, as it will be crucial to the club that they end their stay in the Championship this season and return to being a Premier League team.

Obviously, what the club achieves between now and the end of the season will impact what the club can do going forward.

Promotion to the Premier League may allow the club more room in the transfer market, and it may mean they have a better chance of securing the signings of players like Sean Longstaff, who has emerged on their radar in recent days.

Sean Longstaff is an academy graduate at Newcastle United and has been someone who has risen to fame in the last few years.

The midfielder was given a chance in the first team during the 2018/19 season, and ever since, he has been a stern regular in the side, becoming a key member of Eddie Howe’s team.

But the 26-year-old has entered a crucial point in his career, as his contract at St. James’ Park ends next summer, and that has meant teams have been monitoring his situation.

Leeds United were the first to be credited with an interest, as it was revealed by the Sunday Mirror, via Leeds United News, back in March that they were keeping an eye on the player, and they could make an offer of £15 million if promotion is secured.

However, they are not the only side interested, as it’s now been reported by the Sunday People via Caught Offside that Leicester City are also interested in Longstaff.

The report states that Howe is a big admirer of the midfielder, but with his contract situation being what it is, the Magpies could accept a bid between £15-£20 million.

Now, the talk of Newcastle United accepting a fee between £15-£20 million is quite a lot for Leicester City, given they may need to raise some funds before the end of June if they are to avoid any further charges for financial breaches.

However, the Foxes are in a good position once again when it comes to the league table, with them knowing three wins from their remaining three games will secure promotion to the Premier League, no matter what any of the other teams do.
