Odell Beckham Jr. is hoping to return to his best following inconsistent performances in 2023Odell Beckham Jr has finally made his move to a new NFL team, choosing the Miami Dolphins over a more lucrative offer elsewhere. The AFC East franchise has signed Beckham Jr to boost their already potent offence for the 2024 season.

With Tua Tagovailoa as quarterback and Tyreek Hill as superstar wideout, the Dolphins are an offensive powerhouse. It seems that Beckham will be joining Hill and Jaylen Waddle in blue for the upcoming NFL season

Beckham has inked a one-year deal worth $3 million, which could increase to $8.25 million with incentives. He chose to join Mike McDaniel’s team in Miami after helping the Baltimore Ravens reach the AFC Championship. Despite potentially earning more elsewhere, the 31 year old felt the Dolphins were a better fit.

The addition of Beckham is a logical move for Miami. Despite a strong regular season with an 11-6 record, the Dolphins’ offence faltered against the Kansas City Chiefs in harsh conditions, leading to an early playoff exit.Odell Beckham Jr. is hoping to return to his best following inconsistent performances in 2023

Beckham became available after his one-year contract with the Ravens ended. The experienced player missed the entire 2022 season due to an ACL tear in Super Bowl LVI, where he scored a touchdown in the Los Angeles Rams’ victory.

The Dolphins already boast one of the most productive, feared and speedy receiver duos in the NFL with Hill and Waddle. Together, they’ve racked up 5,879 receiving yards and 32 touchdowns over the past two seasons, leading a formidable offensive force.

However, during the latter part of the 2023 season, it became glaringly obvious that the Dolphins needed a third weapon in their passing game. Tight end Durham Smythe was the only other target who managed more than 300 yards, clocking in at 366

With Cedric Wilson heading to the New Orleans Saints in free agency, Miami were on the hunt for a third option. While Beckham may not be the high-flying agile receiver he once was, he still brings considerable strengths to the table – and McDaniel will certainly make good use of his skills. The addition of the ex-New York Giants star means Tagovailoa will have another target who excels at getting open quickly.

With an additional open option, Tagovailoa can release the ball even faster than he currently does, helping to shield himself from hits. Given his concerning history with concussions in 2022, it’s crucial for the quarterback to stay healthy as he enters the critical fifth year of his rookie contract.Odell Beckham Jr. is hoping to return to his best following inconsistent performances in 2023

Tagovailoa is set to earn a base salary of $23.2 million in the fifth-year option. He threw for 4,624 yards and 29 touchdowns in 2023, and he’ll be aiming to put up impressive numbers with Beckham as he seeks a long-term deal with the Dolphins.
