Battling a familiar face in Lance Lynn, the White Sox offense struck first. Gavin Sheets doubled to left field to score Nicky Lopez, then Eloy Jiménez hit a sacrifice fly to center field to score Tommy Pham and put the Sox up 2–0 in the top of the 1st.

Korey Lee would tack on one more in the top frame of the 4th, reaching on a fielding error by Cardinals second baseman, Nolan Gorman, allowing Andrew Benintendi to cross home. Sox led by 3.

With two runners on, Cardinals Brendan Donovan doubled down the first base line to score both Nolan Gorman and Michael Siani, cutting the Sox lead to 1. St. Louis would take the lead in the bottom of the 5th on a Nolan Arenado home run to center field.

However, the lead would be short lived as Korey Lee came through in the top of the 6th with a 2-RBI single to score Gavin Sheets and Eloy Jiménez, who reached base on back-to-back walks. Tied at 5.

Stellar defense by Andrew Vaughn and Jordan Leasure kept Nolan Arenado from scoring to take the lead.

The game would go to the 10th tied at 5. With Rafael Ortega at second, Tommy Pham came up CLUTCH with a single to left field, scoring Ortega and giving the Sox a 6–5 lead.

Cardinals would load the bases in the bottom of the frame with no outs. John Brebbia fanned the next two batters, Lars Nootbaar and Masyn Winn, in a torrential downpour to make it two outs with the bases still loaded. On a 0–1 count, the game entered a three-hour rain delay.

Tanner Banks entered the game and got the final out on a called strike three to end the game and secure the Sox win!
