The Chicago White Sox won their third straight Friday night, taking advantage of a dominant performance from Garrett Crochet. Chicago capitalized on a Cleveland Guardians fielding mistake and added three insurance runs via the long ball.

Crochet struck out 11 hitters over his six innings of work, allowing no runs, five hits, and no walks. The lefty pitched out of two jams but cruised through the rest of his start, with Cleveland hitters looking over-matched throughout the game.

Unfazed

Gabriel Arias and Austin Hedges had no chance in the third after Will Brennan led off with a triple. The Sox starter fanned both hitters and induced Bryan Rocchio into an inning-ending groundout.

Jose Ramirez and Josh Naylor reached base on an infield single and base hit to center, respectively, with two outs in the sixth. Both runners were stranded when Crochet fanned Ramon Laureano to end the threat

With the Guardians’ help, the White Sox crossed the plate three times in the fifth to put Crochet in line for the win. Cleveland committed two errors in the game, with Gabriel Arias’s miscue proving costly. Korey Lee singled and hustled into third, beating the throw on Paul DeJong’s base hit.
