Leeds United’s failure to gain promotion this season will put the spotlight on their best stars in the upcoming transfer window.

The 1-0 loss to Southampton in last Sunday’s play-off final could prove the final game played by multiple first team members of Daniel Farke’s squad.

The most obvious example is Crysencio Summerville, whose future with the club has been shrouded by speculation throughout the last 12 months.

He remained with the Yorkshire outfit despite their relegation in 2023, but his performances in the Championship have seen his stock rise higher than they’ve ever been.

The Dutchman won the EFL’s Player of the Year award, and was crucial to their promotion challenge.

Summerville contributed 19 goals and nine assists in the regular campaign, but the team still missed out on a return to the top flight (all stats from Fbref).

The likes of Chelsea, Aston Villa and Liverpool have all been linked with a potential move for Summerville.

That speculation will only intensify now that we know the club’s league status for next season.

The winger has proven himself ready to make a return to the top flight, and will find it difficult to turn down a move to a team competing in Europe in the next term.
