Enzo Maresca left the Foxes for Chelsea on Monday, signing a five-year deal to replace Mauricio Pochettino.

Leicester won the Championship this season under the former Manchester City assistant, but are now on the hunt for a new boss to keep them in the top flight next term.

Former Manchester United defender Bruce joined talkSPORT’s Breakfast show on Tuesday, and it didn’t take long for him to be quizzed on whether he would be interested in the job.

When asked by Leicester fan Nigel if he’d be keen, or if a potential points deduction would put him off taking it, Bruce threw his hat in the ring.

“A points deduction wouldn’t put me off,” he smiled. “Leicester, you know where I am! I mean, what a wonderful opportunity that is all of a sudden.Maresca has left big shoes to fill after rebuilding Leicester following their relegation in 2023

“You know, they might have a few problems, but Leicester has been a great club over the past few years, of course the fairy tale of winning the Premier League a few years ago.”

Bruce left his most recent job in 2022, departing West Brom after eight months in charge and leaving the Baggies 22nd in the table – their lowest league position for more than two decades.

Prior to his role at the Hawthorns, Bruce managed Newcastle, Sheffield Wednesday, Aston Villa, Hull, Sunderland, Wigan and Birmingham.

But now, Bruce says he’s now open to other roles away from being a no. 1 at another club.
