The Reds have been heavily linked with the Corinthians custodian by the Brazilian media. It has been claimed they are set to see off competition from Premier League rivals West Ham United in the race for his signature.

It is said that Corinthians are still trying to convince him to stay put. However, “the prospect of being a starter” for the Reds during a five-year contract is said to be a significant lure.

Matz Sels established himself as Forest No.1 in the second half of last season after he signed on deadline day of the January transfer window. Prior to his arrival, neither Matt Turner nor Odysseas Vlachodimos had convinced between the posts.

The Reds spent money on both Turner and Vlachodimos last summer. As with Sels, the duo are under contract until 2027, but there is uncertainty about their futures.

Sky Sports said on Saturday that suggestions of an agreement being in place for Miguel to make the switch Trentside were “very premature”. But Globo state that Forest “presented the best proposal” and the Brazilian is “now negotiating his departure”.This worries me' - Two major Nuno Espirito Santo concerns emerge as former Nott'm Forest star analyses appointment

Previous reports from Brazil said any move would not happen before July, leaving the player available for his current club until then. Brazil’s Serie A 2024/25 season started in April and runs until December. Miguel is said to have a 4 million euros (£3.4m) release clause in his contract.
