Newcastle United have set their sights on signing Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira this summer.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke suggested Newcastle have listed Pereira among their targets in the current transfer window.

The Brazil international is under contract until 2026 with Fulham – who hold an option of a further year.

Pereira, who joined the Cottagers from Manchester United in 2022, is thought to be open to a move away from the club to push for the highest honours.

The midfielder would be especially sought after by Eddie Howe if midfielders depart the club – Football Insider reported on 9 June that Newcastle could accept any forthcoming bids for Sean Longstaff from Leicester City.

Howe and the Magpies’ recruitment staff are “working overtime” to get incoming players identified.

Newcastle eyeing up Andreas Pereira deal

Whilst Pereira has won honours whilst on loan in Brazil and has carved his way back into the national team, the 28-year-old did not win any major silverware at Manchester United.

With the midfielder now appearing to seek a move away from Fulham, Howe and Newcastle may line up a deal and convince the player that St. James’ Park is the place to be to push for trophies.
