Newcastle United could be close to securing their first sale of the summer as Eddie Howe goes about revamping his squad.

The Magpies look set for a busy transfer window and have wasted no time identifying targets to strengthen Eddie Howe’s side.

Lloyd Kelly has already arrived on a free transfer after his contract expired at Bournemouth while Newcastle are confident over a deal to sign Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Wolves skipper Max Kilman has also emerged as a target for Howe but Newcastle will be mindful of the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) deadline on June 30.

It’s no secret that the Magpies reportedly need to raise funds to stay on the right side of PSR and according to The Athletic, they are confident they are close to selling one player.

Newcastle believe they are close to Yankuba Minteh sale

Yankuba Minteh looks set to head out the door at St James’ Park this summer after a brilliant loan spell with Feyenoord last term.

Minteh is receiving strong interest from Everton while Ligue 1 giants Lyon are also said to be willing to meet his asking price.

And The Athletic reports that Newcastle believe they are close to offloading the 19-year-old for a fee worth £25 million or more.

It’s claimed that Minteh has already agreed personal terms with an unnamed club and is open to a summer exit, despite his desire to play Premier League football.
