It’s already shaping up to be a busy and exciting summer for Coventry City as Mark Robins looks to top up his squad with a few choice signings to give the club the wherewithal to compete for promotion at the top end of the Championship.
So far the Sky Blues have four new faces for the season ahead, and fans are eagerly awaiting news on further new additions before the players report back for pre-season testing and training (July 1).
Two seniors have been released and a third, Callum O’Hare, is expected to move on this summer when his contract officially expires at the end of this month, so there are gaps to fill amongst an already light-looking first team squad which the manager is looking to re-stock with more quality.
That process is well underway with the arrivals of winger Raphael Borges Rodrigues from Australian A-League side Macarthur FC to add balance to wide left man Ephron Mason-Clark, who signed for the club in January from Peterborough United, but who is joining City for the first time this summer.
The return of centre-half Luis Binks was next, with the 22-year-old defender upgrading his season-long loan to a permanent four year deal, having switched from Italian Serie A club Bologna for an undisclosed fee.
And the excitement ramped up a notch with the arrival of forward thinking midfielder Jack Rudoni, who has signed from Huddersfield Town, again, for an undisclosed fee.
City also, of course, will have missed out on the odd one here and there, with Red Star Belgrade midfielder Marko Stamenic snubbing the Sky Blues in favour of a move to Nottingham Forest, albeit via a year-long loan at Greek club Olympiacos.
We’ll keep this page updated as each deal, both in and out, concerning Villa is completed over the course of the summer.
