Harry Souttar is exactly what Philippe Clement wants in his Rangers side and the club should be going after him, according to Derek Ferguson.
Football Scotland reported on 9 June that although the giant Australian defender was waiting on a new manager to be appointed he was still expected to leave Leicester City this summer.
The 25-year-old, younger brother of current Gers centre-back John, was reportedly ready to move to Ibrox a year ago when Michael Beale was in charge but the inability to move Ben Davies on meant the deal was never done [The 4th Official, 31 August].
Now, Ferguson would love to see Clement rectify that and bringing the Light Blues fan to Glasgow to play for the club he supports.
He exclusively told Ibrox News: “I’d absolutely love that, so I would. He’s six foot six, six foot seven.
“But he can play. He’s a Rangers man as well. I’m sure I saw a picture of him with a Rangers top on so I’m pretty sure he’s a Rangers supporter.
“He’ll know about our league. He’ll know it inside out. He’s a good player, the boy, so if you get a player of his stature, that physicality, I think for Philippe Clement that’s exactly what he wants, that type.”
Rangers could pair John Souttar with brother Harry at Ibrox

The failure to secure a move to Glasgow last summer left the younger Souttar out in the cold under Enzo Maresca where he barely featured.
