Forest have already added Marko Stamenic to their ranks – although he will spend the season on loan with Olympiacos.

Yesterday, Forest landed Germany under-17 World Cup winner Eric da Silva Moreira too as the summer rebuild takes sharp.

There is a goalkeeper soon to be on the way too, with Carlos Miguel reportedly passing a medical ahead of joining from Corinthians.

Now, a striker is in the sights of Forest and at least one talisman looks likely to sign for the club before the season gets underway in mid-August.

Nottingham Forest want Edmund Baidoo

Well, this comes from Sky Sports and it’s claimed that Forest and Brighton are competing for the signing of young striker Edmund Baidoo.Brighton Hove Albion Flag | Whats On This Weekend Brighton | sincovaga.com.br

The Reds are interested in the Ghanaian player who currently turns out for Norwegian outfit Sogndal.

Last season he played senior football for the very first time under former Chelsea striker Tore Andre Flo who is the manager.

He didn’t disappoint either, scoring nine goals and claiming seven assists from just 16 appearances.

It’s claimed that the player is in no rush to move clubs at the moment but would be open to the idea of moving to another European league.

Baidoo could be a surprise package at Forest

With Forest keen to replicate the Brighton recruitment model in the near future, it’s intriguing they’re going toe-to-toe, it would seem, to sign Baidoo.

The teenager has earned praise from his manager back in March when he signed for the club after initially joining on trial.

Flo told Ghana Web: “He was with us for 14 days in Spain and made a very good impression. He is a young and very exciting player.

“He has great speed and good technique and can challenge any defender.”

Baidoo is clearly going to be very raw at 18-years-old but this is the sort of signing that will probably excite Forest fans more than an ageing striker.Brighton Hove Albion Flag | Whats On This Weekend Brighton | sincovaga.com.br

In terms of financial fair play, this signing might be absolutely perfect.

Baidoo wouldn’t exactly break the bank and if he stars in the Premier League, he could easily be sold for a significant amount of profit further down the line.

Forest would welcome a younger striker into their ranks and it remains to be seen if Baidoo is the man they settle on.
