On Friday, Expressen reported Brighton & Hove Albion have overcome competition to agree a SEK 102m [£7.55m] deal with IFK Göteborg for Malick Yalcouyé. It was also said the Seagulls haven’t yet agreed personal terms with the player.
FotbollDirekt now claim the 18-year-old is ‘on his way’ to the Premier League as the deal to take him to Brighton is ‘very close’.
Earlier claims from Expressen and in the English press stated that Brighton are paying £7.55m plus bonuses for the midfielder.
According to FotbollDirekt, the final price is lower than that and is £6m, although it’s not clear if that includes bonuses.
Earlier this year, Yalcouyé joined Göteborg from ASEC Mimosas and the report says the Ivorian club will receive 40-50% of the fee from his sale.
It’s claimed there are some details left that need to be sorted out before the player can complete a move to The Amex. FotbollDirekt claim they aren’t aware of when this deal will be finalised.
Yalcouyé has made 14 appearances for Göteborg and is set to leave them for a club-record fee this summer.
