Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has suggested Crystal Palace could enter the race for Jaden Philogene late on after losing Michael Olise to Bayern Munich.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – revealed he is “hearing” a bid of £20million after add-ons is enough to land the 22-year-old.

Football Insider has revealed on 10 July that Ipswich have climbed into pole position ahead of Everton in the race to sign Hull City’s Philogene this summer.

Hull have accepted bids from both clubs and it is believed the Tractor Boys’ proposal is currently preferred by the player – over what Everton have offered.

Philogene scored 12 goals and provided six assists across 32 appearances for the Tigers in the Championship last season.

Aston Villa also have the opportunity to match any accepted bid if they want to enter the race to re-sign the winger.
