The countdown to the 2024/25 Premier League season is well and truly on, and Nottingham Forest’s thoughts will be on the transfer work still to be done to shape Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad for the new campaign.

Getting some business done early in the summer window was always going to be key for the Reds. They have done that, and now comes the task of ticking off the remainder of their to-do list.

Four signings have been made so far – albeit one has gone out on loan – while several players have headed off in the opposite direction. Below, NottinghamshireLive takes a look at what Forest still need to do in the remainder of the window.

Areas to strengthen

Building on the crux of a good squad already in place was the aim for the Reds going into this summer. The additions of Carlos Miguel, Elliot Anderson and Eric da Silva Moreira represent an encouraging start on that front, with Marko Stamenic set to spend the season with Olympiacos.

Nuno does not want to work with a big group, but he does need to have strength in depth in all areas. “What makes it through the season is the squad,” the Portuguese said after the final-day victory over Burnley in May.

Top of the agenda has to be bringing in defensive resources. At least one centre-back is required and the full-back department needs looking at.
