Nottingham Forest were keen to get some of their summer transfer business done early in preparation for the 2024/25 Premier League campaign.

The Reds have made five signings so far as they look to equip head coach Nuno Espirito Santo with a squad capable of pushing on in the top-flight. Meanwhile, a number of players have headed in the opposite direction in a bid to trim numbers.

Further incomings and outgoings are expected before the window closes at 11pm on August 30. Several areas of the pitch are still in need of strengthening and Nuno has acknowledged decisions will need to be made on the future of some players.

The likes of Emmanuel Dennis, Joe Worrall, Josh Bowler and Lewis O’Brien have returned from loan spells. Nuno hinted after last weekend’s opening friendly victory over Chesterfield that such players could move on.

“They are our players. We are taking care of them, because they are part of the club,” he said. “We will embrace them and prepare them, then we will make decisions.

“We still have a long way to go. We have to take a good look at all of the aspects and decide what is best for them and their careers. We are really careful with those situations.”
