The Whites have agreed a fee with the Blades for the services of the right-back and he is bound for Elland Road.

He was a player that Wilder did not want to lose from Bramall Lane, but Sheffield United were put in a tough spot as he was into the final year of his deal.

Bogle also took matters into his own hands and spoke to Wilder, letting the Blades manager know that he wanted to move to Elland Road.

Wilder insists there was nothing he could do to convince Bogle to stay and the best thing was to quickly move him on for the best price.

“He ran his contract down, so this is the difficult part of it, positions that clubs get put into”, he told BBC Radio Sheffield.

“Absolutely, 100 per cent in an ideal world we don’t want players to run their contracts down.

“I can’t put a gun to his head and put a pen in his hand to sign a contract for Sheffield United.

“He made it clear this week to me that he saw his future elsewhere, he saw his future at Leeds United.

“The best thing when players do that is to get the best price possible for the football club”, Wilder added.

Leeds are pushing through the capture of Bogle and it will fill one of their key recruitment positions, at right-back.
